President of St. Joseph’s University, new york
I am delighted to welcome you to the winter edition of SJNY Magazine, where we share the stories and achievements that define our St. Joseph’s University, New York community.

One of the highlights of this issue is our comprehensive coverage of the grand opening of the Long Island Campus’ new Student Center. This state-of-the-art facility, with its spacious dining areas, art gallery and a chapel named in honor of our founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph, stands as a testament to our commitment to providing an exceptional campus environment. The center quickly became the focal point of our campus for students, faculty and staff alike.

Another feature you’ll enjoy is our coverage of the University’s third annual Esse Non Videri Gala Awards Dinner. This event honored six outstanding alumni who have thrived in business and leadership roles. Our story details their remarkable achievements.

In this issue, we also proudly showcase the success of Brendan Ginnetty, a 2016 graduate who played a pivotal role as the main sound engineer in a highly successful Netflix documentary, “Take Care of Maya.” Brendan’s journey exemplifies the talent and dedication of our alumni community.

The magazine additionally takes you on a visual journey across our campuses, highlighting moments from our two Investiture ceremonies, the national gathering of the Association of Colleges of Sisters of St. Joseph hosted by St. Joseph’s University, and the remarkable summer travel experiences of our students. You’ll also read about the special recognition received by our esteemed Brooklyn Campus professor Raymond D’Angelo, Ph.D., and other points of pride that make us proud to be part of the St. Joseph’s family.

Notably, this edition introduces you to our newly elected Long Island Alumni Board President Sam Bifulco ’16 and shines a spotlight on several remarkable students, including Dominick Strebel, a cancer survivor who is thriving as a two-sport student-athlete.

As you read through our latest edition, I encourage you to reflect on the extraordinary accomplishments of our St. Joseph’s community. These are stories that embody our core values and inspire us to continue striving for excellence.

Thank you for being an integral part of our vibrant and dynamic St. Joseph’s University, New York community.

Sincerely,
