Five St. Joseph’s Hoopsters Reach 1,000-Point Milestone

By Brian Harmon
St. Joseph’s University’s four basketball programs combined this season saw five players reach the 1,000-point career total.
Three of the five players who accomplished the milestone were Golden Eagles, playing for Long Island Campus teams, while two were on Brooklyn Campus Bears’ teams. Of the five, three scored 1,000 points representing St. Joseph’s. The group included two transfer students whose combined career points total exceeded 1,000.
Reaching 1,000 points in college basketball is a rare achievement that only a small percentage of players attain. The achievement underscores a player’s significant and sustained contribution to their team’s offense across their college career.
Below are the five SJNY players who reached 1,000 points this season:

Sirakis drained a three-pointer in the first half of a Feb. 3 home game against SUNY Purchase to reach and surpass 1,000 career points. He reached that mark with his final field goal in a Bears uniform.
